Meredith McCanse is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and a member of the Feldenkrais Guild® of North America.  She has taught Awareness Through Movement® classes/workshops at Hunter College, the 92nd St. Y, the Boro Park Y, Feldenkrais Associates, and as a guest artist at the University of Richmond.  She teaches Functional Integration® lessons in Park Slope, Brooklyn and at various locations in Manhattan.

In addition to her Feldenkrais training, Meredith brings over 20 years of experience as a dancer to her practice.  She currently dances with Jeremy Nelson and Luis Lara Malvacias’ Full Fat Dance Company with whom she has toured extensively, recently visiting the United Kingdom, South America and Eastern Europe.  Meredith also dances with Ashleigh Leite and Daniel Charon and has recently done projects with Adriane Fang and Deganit Shemy.

Meredith has also spent much of her time over the past 6 years working as a private tutor for academic subjects and standardized test preparation.  This is significant in that Feldenkrais is a form of education and is ultimately about learning.  Like academic tutoring, Feldenkrais requires that each individual session be catered to the needs, interests, and learning style of the student.

Client Testimonial

“I didn't know much about Feldenkrais and wondered if it would help me where other more mainstream techniques had not. Any reservations or skepticism I had were quickly washed away. Not only has Feldenkrais far surpassed my expectations, but Meredith has been an amazing practitioner. She is thoughtful, attentive, and thorough. She cares deeply about my progress as well as my mental, physical, and spiritual health. I strongly recommend Meredith McCanse as a Feldenkrais practitioner to anyone seeking a holistic form of healing. ”
